Custom Instructions
Custom Instructions in AICamp let you personalize how the AI responds to you — across all chats and projects.
By setting them once, you help the AI understand who you are, what kind of work you do, and how you’d like answers formatted. This means you get more relevant, useful responses — without repeating context every time.
Where to Find It
Go to Settings → Custom Instructions in your AICamp workspace.
You’ll see three fields:
- Describe yourself
- What do you do?
- Preferred response format
Here’s how each field works and how to get the most out of it.
Describe Yourself
Let AICamp know who you are. This is a quick intro to help the AI tailor its tone and depth.
Example:
“Hey AI, I’m Shreya, cofounder of AICamp. I lead product, strategy, and content development.”
🎯 Why it matters:
Helps the AI recognize your role and avoid overly basic or unrelated answers.
What Do You Do?
Explain your responsibilities and day-to-day work. This guides AICamp in shaping responses that match your role.
Example:
“I work on writing help docs, onboarding guides, and explaining features to non-technical users.”
🎯 Why it matters:
The AI can now focus on delivering the kind of content and structure you actually need.
Preferred Response Format
Tell AICamp how you want answers written — short, long, casual, structured, etc.
Examples:
- “Use bullet points for everything.”
- “Respond in markdown format.”
- “Keep it concise and action-oriented.”
- “Speak in a friendly, professional tone — like writing for teammates.”
🎯 Why it matters:
Your output becomes easier to copy, edit, or directly use in your work.
